Made Me Laugh

I don't know if Jakovic has got better at his special comments of late or that they are not letting him speak as much, but I haven't heard him utter any of his famous Jakoisms for quite a while. Until the 12min mark* of the first quarter today...
Jako was musing over how the eGurls hadn't been able to beat Freo when he said, "in the last two Derbies they outscored the opposition but lost the game."
Ah Jako, you make me laugh.
*12min remaining in the quarter.

Jacko at half time....I walked in with the players and they said we matched their intensity now all we gotta do is convert onto scoreboard

I like how Healy and Taylor, who can both waffle on like boofheads, still manage to subtley make fun of Jacko. After Jacko's comment about outscoring but losing the game, Healy says: "I think I know what you mean" and after a pause to help the penny drop he says "Scoring shots".
I liked the one in the last quarter when Pav takes a mark. Jacko states that the viewers wouldn't have been able to see the number of times Pav lead for the ball but if Ben McKinley wants to understand the workrate required he should look at Pav's tape.
The other thing that cracks me up is when we're watching a team getting a break and before Taylor can call the passage of play, Jacko mentions the name of the player who he thinks is going to receive it. eg "Priddis", "Masten" or when Kennedy's kick after the 3 quarter time siren is clearly seen to be missing everything: "He's pushed it"

What I love pre and post match derbies. Is that all ex-weagles sports presenters pretending to be neutral about the derby but sounding very FLAT and DISAPPOINTED after the match. Even Jacko (who I will say has been pretty supportive for the Dockers) sounds deflated.. Haha NOT bias are we fellas.
Belly is a breath of fresh air on 6PR.
Catch him on weds nights.

i dislike how being a former player suddenly makes you an authority worthy of commentating the game. it's the same with other sports like soccer, netball and tennis. any player who gets their picture in the paper during their sporting career need only wait for a contract offer from a media agency when they retire.
the only way i'd accept it is if jacko said "now i don't understand why they're fighting like that, when a slap or two is more than adequate"

Okay if we're commenting on ex-eagles commentators what about Robert Wiley on PEEErrr yesterday refusing to give any rising star points or to even discuss them? I thought Roberton might have merited a mention, Morabito has been a really tough in and under contributor, if no votes maybe a comment. I guess he was gutted!!!

I don't mind slappo anymore. Sure his grasp on the english language is at best rudimentary but of all the ex-slime and slime loving commentators out there he's the only one who has started to give Freo at least the semblance of a fair go.
In my opinion he has been far less derogatory of Freo and far less sycophantic towards the slime in the last 2 years than he was previously and than the others are currently.
I'd like to see the game called by Belly and the Prince of Pockets with special comments (particularly on the biff) by Dale Kickett.

svs1 - Belly did call for PR yesterday. My partner said he was fantastic - both informative and fair.

Fox did give Jacko enough time to churn out ; " Sandilands is clearly the best number one ruckman in the comp at the minute but Naitanui and Cox are the second two best ruckman which will test him " .

SVS1 - Kickett should be remembered for more than just the biff.
He had more ticker than Phar Lap and certainly more ticker in his left bootlace than most running around - a true club legend in my humble opinion.
As for Sandi - it appears (to all except those that post here) forgotten that he rucked just about all day against two specialist ruckmen (OK - an old crock and a headless chook), took it to them in the ruck, blitzed them around the park, did a bit of hard yakka at the bottom of the pack, made a few tackles and kicked a few goals. Harvs in his press conference played it pretty straight faced but he wouldn't win any poker tournaments and I think he has a man crush on the big guy.
