Watching the Waffle

For those that don't spend much time on the official club website - the best article for the week is the WAFL watch. Definitely worth seeking out for a read, usually comes out late in the week.

Thanks, that is a good read. I noticed this though:

"... we want him to run similar to someone like Stephen Hill"

Yeah, good luck with that.

If they're our worst 14, or 13 + Palmer, then we're looking pretty good.
Bet they would nearly all get a game down at Ooftit's

Mike's more than capable of running like Hilly, despite being smaller and with shorter legs. His kick is better on the run (though not as good on the wrong 'un) and he can change direction much quicker. Explosive starts, both of them, yet Hilly has a bigger tank (where he keeps it, I have no idea). Walters is a real gem though - I thought it was a fair expectation from Docker Central Command.

I should say that the WAFL Watch/Waffle is much, much better this year - some of the comments actually concur with some of my thoughts after the match (on the day). Whoever does it, summarises well and communicates the performances honestly to the members. It is a welcome relief after the stuff from last year.

No chance dazza. Woosh doesn't like playing the OOFTIT kiddies unless he has to (ie, they are related to someone ala Masten or they are Fijian) Don't think our younguns would get a look in despite being better than most of their senior players.

I wasn't doubting Mike's ability. Just thought that wanting someone (anyone) to run like Hill is a bit like wanting someone to be as dominant as Sandilands - unlikely to ever happen.

But if you're right about Walters, and you've seen more of him than most of us, we're in for some exciting times!

Pretty obvious Tim Gossage doesn't keep up with the comings and goings of Dockers players in the WAFL.

In a typically muddled spray about the weekend's fixtures on PeeAargh yesterday, he justified picking East Fremantle over West Perth because Old Easts would "welcome back" Spangher and Dalziell while the Cardies would be "weakened" by the loss of Lynch. Leaving aside the dubious advantages and disadvantages of these changes (ask a West Perth supporter how Runaround Q has been going for them, for example), there was no mention of West Perth regaining the admirable Jay Van Berlo or (as appeared likely at the time) losing the great Kepler Bradley, or the likely effect on East Fremantle of losing their champion midfielder and best player Rhys Palmer.

Goose. Dumb, lazy goose.

He said the same thing on the news, I thought I detected some sarcasm. He's right about the result though.

West Perth sook.

"Runaround Q" That really tickled me, zorro. Not just as a good description and reference to a good song from my younger days, but also encapsulating the hypocritical criticisms leveled at him by Woosha et al for not staying put in the forward line, when they were the ones that originally gave him the licence to roam.

Oh, I forgot Mitch Brown in that list. Spangher, Dalziell and Brown.

Looking good, Shane!

Rogerbelly, you say most of their senior players .

Who, of their senior players, would hold their spot ahead of one of our young stars ?
