I've just moved to Melbourne after a stint overseas, does anyone have a hot tip for a pub where I might find a few Dockers fans and the Derby telecast?

The East in Lygon Street Brunswick is usually a good slot. But I don't know what other broadcasts are on Sunday...I have been caught out there by a guy we now call Mr Grumpy, a Collingwood supporter (what else?) who insisted on watching a delayed telecast of the struggling Pies.
The East has big screen and also a smaller one (very watchable!) over the bar. It's a good angst-free pub that also does decent meals.
My step-son, a Richmond supporter, swears by the Rose in Fitzroy.
And there's a joint in Lygon Street next door to Carlton Audio that runs a Foxtel stream. I have dropped in there in times of crisis.

I can also vouch for the rose in fitzroy, it's where I'll be - unless the royal derby at the top end of Brunswick st is firing again. I saw a derby there in 2008 and it was packed with an even mix of dockers and the others. Apparently they even had a derby of their own earlier in the day up at Edinburgh gardens... We won that one too.

I reckon I'll give the Rose and/or the Royal Derby a go. I'll be wearing an away jersey with cigarette burns on the back (courtesy of some jerk in Chicago) if anyone wants to say hello.
