Channel 7 are showing the game half an hour delayed on Sunday.

How short do the Eagles odds have to be for it to go live do you reckon?

There's gunna be so many toasters there on Sunday, the Dockers cheering will be echoing for hours!

All the toasters going missing in action will be the only sellouts this week!

Seriously, it is an interesting observation. Derbies have been sellouts and broadcast live for as long as I can remember. Sometimes if sales are slow and it sells out late they change the broadcast time at the last minute - could be one of those.

Will be a shame if it isn't full though. I have a couple of seats and want to get the most out of it. Victory and schadenfreude in one sweet package.

This is all to do with TV scheduling. It was announced last week on the FFC website that the game was sold out. Ch 7 want the schedule to fit nicely into the run-up to their 6.00 pm news. A match broadcast normally runs 3 hours, and they would have to find a 30 min filler if they broadcast 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm. I agree with those who've noted that recent Derbies have been live in real time, as distinct from live, but delayed (such as 8.30 on Friday nights, but don't start me off on that topic).

Foxtel owns the rights to the Sunday twilight games and have first dibs at them as one of their 4 games a week live. Should be live in the pubs or if you have Fox.
