Looks like we need another new award on Dockerland.

A bit like the hackdorn, it would be for the best case of sycophancy (see alternative phrases at Wikipedia here: sycophancy)

Two good articles this week already vying for it - this one by Lewis and another by Wilson.

I'm working on another, the HackZAC, for the most gratuitous misuse of all things ANZAC. I can tell you the favourite is a bloke (at least I assume he's a bloke) who writes for the Sunday Times in Perth name of Kim Hagdorn. Any other nominations will be considered.

I had a discussion with someone this afternoon - I had never really known who they barracked for till today. Like a groupie for one the political parties who never really has an original thought but who can always echo back the party line I got 'the eagles are planning for a premiership in 3 years'. I guess that's what 'leadership'* is about - providing the fodder for the masses, to provide some hope and to paper over the ugly truth. For many when all is said and done there is only hope - and the lies we'd like to believe in.
*or is that liedership?

I love the comment on the second page
"i resent any comparison between the eagles and dockers, because the eagles suck!" haha nice

but i get the gist of what the article is saying, but seriously, what about the baby bombers? or the cats of 3 years ago? the list goes on.

main difference, eagles were basically gifted their golden era, where as, through hard work, good drafting and backing our boys, ours could be coming to fruition now.
