Ask Woosha

West Coast coach John Worsfold will be asked to explain his side's poor start to the season when he fronts the club's board tomorrow night.

The meeting, which chairman Mark Barnaba stressed yesterday was one of several between board and coach arranged before the start of the season, is also likely to discuss the Eagles match committee's handling of Quinten Lynch, dropped after the round-one loss to Brisbane.

Worsfold will also be quizzed on the development of the club's young players.

What should the board ask Woosha? Have your say below.

"Five weeks into the season - it doesn't matter whether you are 5-0 - you would still like to hear from your coach," Barnaba said.

"As it happens, it is an opportune time given that we are 1-4 and not 4-1, but just to be clear it was called when we put the schedule of meetings together at the beginning of the season. That doesn't mean you can't call impromptu meetings - this just isn't one."

Asked if Lynch would be discussed, Barnaba said: "Those meetings go on for about 45 minutes so you talk about a lot of things.

So, 5 weeks into the worst season they've had if you ignore things like messy underworld connections, ex players dying and captains running away from the cops, the coach hasn't been in touch. I know they've got phones, we saw them. We all saw them. Just ring him, mark. Try to make it at 3/4 time though, he won't be too busy then.

Questions I would like the board to ask...

i) Whooshy-mate, would you like another contract extension?
ii) Do you think it's too late to entice Benny-Boy back to the club?
iii) Would it be okay if we ignore the other Assistants and give Suma more responsibilities?

So the race is on. Will Barra break the news to him on the way in or will the Barnaba be able to sack him in time?

I don't have the stats in front of me but from memory, 48% of coach sackings come after a loss to the Swans.

last year on the road, 1-23.

It must be true, I read it on the back on the Sunday Advertisement, reflected in the windscreen of the cab parked next to me at the lights.

I'm a bit taken aback that the board even thinks he has any answers. They already give him the ones he feeds to the media.

Question: Given that the Egirls only want to win "premierships" and are not aiming to play finals only, how is being 1-4 a pathway to that goal??

Woosha: Well we're on track, we won't be playing finals. Goal achieved.

Barnaba: "So, John, We know it hasn't been the best start to the season. Thats done with. Can you give us a brief rundown on what you plan to do turn things around."

Woosee: "Well, it's all a matter of character which you get when you win finals...er...Suma got it wrong...er...Lynchy..comes upfield..er...that ranga bollard thing...er...can't kick....ooh, look a bear!"

Barnaba: "Well thanks John! How long did you want that contract extension for...."

Robert Plant liked to squeeze his lemon too. I'm hoping it's not the same one, or that's another image we could do without.

"John, this is serious. What next?"

"Bloody hell, what about Nicky Nacky Nui. He does two weird freaky things each game. I plan to use the word 'Exciting' every time I'm asked about him."

"Great work, John. Pass the Lemons.""

Barnaba: "John, why the bear suit? We are trying to be professional here and if we are going to announce your 5 year contract extension then I'm not sure it is approrpiate attire".
Sulky: "Lynchy told me to wear it - I told you he was trouble. And ever since that stretcher came on to the ground and cost us 4 premiership points I haven't been quite right. I thought Nissy was going to sort that out as well. How are we doing?"
Barnaba: "Going well John. 4 points from 5 games and it all seems on track. Well done, sign this (another 5 years), see you next time"
Sulky: "Cheers - can I sack Lynchy now? Oh and that Masten bloke - where did he come from?
Barnaba: "Put the bear hat on John - the suit doesn't look complete without it and it hides your bottom lip.

Mark Barnabas wouldn't actually be in the room. Plausible deniability I think they call it
