Experienced players were there at the right times to help lift the team.
Mundy strong in contested possessions. Pav and Sandi are in that elite bracket where you know they're going to be able to turn the game our way sometime during any game. Hase, McPhee, McPharlin and Tarrant all had stints at upping the ante with positive results. Overall I liked Broughton's game the best. Might have had a couple kicked on him but also saved a couple on his own and his use of the ball close in by hand and by foot was top notch. Hill a standout in the first half. Barlow good 4 quarter player by weight of possession, decision making and making most of his disposals count. I liked Van Berlo early when Richmond got the jump. Silvagni continues to impress.
Perhaps the deweyness of the ball, and some good endevour by Richmond made our players take that extra split second on their normally slick skills. Hayden, Johnson and Morabito were the ones I noticed getting caught out a bit. Mayne probably due to get some goals. Ballantyne/Fyfe solid contributers as smaller forwards.
Hard fought win. Not a complete debacle of a game because we had to raise our skill level to get over them. Umpiring didn't really annoy me, except for the bouncing. Just throw the bloody thing up and ruckmen will ruck accordingly.
Suban and Palmer ready for Derby selection. Probably time for a second ruckman too.
Interesting Wolf medal votes. Don't neccessarily disagree. Delideo was a class act and should get some Brownlow votes.
