Our worst win of the season

Watch it on TV and the funny thing is this was McPhee's best game he's played for us. Reckon he was one of the better kickers of the night and his pressure was top notch as well.
Yet the rest of the fellas where FLAT...it looks like 4 hard games have ready taken its toll and as the boys where dropping marks, misfiring kicks and handballing into traffic. Looked like cramp city in the last quarter...oh Benny Cousins you are a hoot!!
Credit to Richmond for having a red hot crack...and are probably our new interstate nemesis..alot of venom was out there tonight. Basically end of match can be summarised as... Pav steps up and we play better
We have to reload.. get Palmer in...Harvs get the boys training like we have lost and give the weagles no hope next week

The Weagles don't have a chance next week. Yes it was a scrappy game, but we shouldn't become complacent with winning. Ended up with a 39 point margin after kicking horribly for goal, but Richmond often play well here and after a shaky first quarter we ground them down and squashed them. Great result for the boys.
+ umpires were absolutley horrendous.

Agreed, McPhee was solid and continues to improve each week.

Agree it was one of McPhee's better games but he could do with a pair of gloves. He dropped a few sitters which spoilt his game.
* other than the bounce I didn't think it was an atypical performance from the men in neon.

It was our first night game. The ball was slippery and doing strange things. Hec,even the umpires couldn't get it to bounce straight. We made some skill errors but so what? We still won.
And, in some strange way I'm pleased that it wasn't the walkover that some predicted because we won't go into the derby complacent.

A lot of punters would've gone for the 39.5+ margin... unlucky

I had us down for between 40-49 points at $7.00. Was a little pissed that we didn't get a score in the dying seconds but after the abysmal display from the green slime I was just grateful to get the win.

Smokey McPhee just needs some polish. I heard Harvs talking about him last week and explaining how he missed a fair amount of the pre-season due to some minor injuries. The Club is happy with his output and are keen to run him more through the midfield as he gets his touch back.

Yep, that was indeed our worst game of the season, and we still won by 39. That alone says a lot about how far this unit has come.
I'd like to give credit to Richmond, but in reality I would have to restrain that by also saying it was obvious just how much toll last week's performance took on us. We were flat, flat, flat. That's nothing to be ashamed of either, as anyone who watched the Saints last night would know. (I'd say we sapped the life out of them even more than they did us - and they were at home!)
This really was the ideal scenario leading into a derby.
Firstly, we had a home game beforehand, so no travel factor. Secondly, we had a lot of players down, meaning that next week we will have plenty bouncing back to redeem themselves with a good one. I guess it goes without saying that the third handy factor is that our opponents are a rabble's shadow at the moment.
Pretty ordinary spectacle overall, but I did enjoy my first taste of Fyfe.

I think 37-17 scoring shots is a little bit unfair to Richmond I thought they were quite brave tonight. But then again, when Jack Riewoldt is your main forward it explains a lot.

Also it's quite obvious that the boys were a little sloppy early after facing the two competitions heavy weights in consecutive weeks. Thankfully it was Richmond

Yeah, in the Riewoldt brothers - Parker brothers analogy, Jack is most definitely Dan.
