Haven't seen someone run in front the side of the pack and launch himself like he does since Polak in 2003. His goal kicking should improve once he learns to cope with the pressure of playing in front of 38000 people.

I had heard from some mates who work with Claremont that he has the best hands they'd seen.
That seems to have been endorsed by several brilliant moments last night. He was surprisingly effective defensively as well. Seems to sffortlessly find space and time. His precise kick to the right side for De Boer's goal was class.

He's the only GenY footballer with black boots on.

Which by my thinking makes him a bit of a lair but I'm prepared to accept there are other schools of thought on the issue.

Thanks for sharing that clip Shane. A couple of observations:
i. now that I hear Tim Clarke speak it's no surprise that he sometimes writes about AFL as if he's a soccer fan.
ii. Caty's comment about Fyfe that you can't make a judgment about how good a player is from just one game. Funny thing that. If he had long dreadlocks and came from Sweden we'd probably be raving about him as 'the next big thing', or perhaps its because he hasn't got a name like 'Nicky-Nacky-Noo-Ey'?

Black Boots, excellent work by the kid, they certainly are a point of distinction. Geez young-feller-me-lads I can remember when three green flouro stripes was the height of lairising. Would be all retro and cool again now.
