I was listening in quite astutely from my outpost her in Phuket and thought that geez, we should have quite easily been another 5 or 6 goals up.
..... and talk about the maggots .... sometimes I just wished I had some eyes on the game as well.

But will have to wait until later in the week when they release the game for us expats to watch.

Can't wait for the toast next week

The biggest indictment on the umpires was the half-time scuffle (caused by the fact that the lime green idiots had lost control of the game) and their inability to diffuse the situation (because no-one from either team had enough respect at that point to listen to them).

If the AFL is serious none of them would be umpiring at AFL level next week.

When is Sandi going to get paid a free for chopping of his arms? The only way these muppets can compete is to climb all over him in one on ones and take his arms out.

yeah shame the umpires are human, perhaps we should employ players as umpires instead , because the players never make a mistake.

come on guys stop being so negative to the umpires.

It just part of being human we all make mistakes, look at how many points we kicked this game.

so lets move on...

well done dockers finally we turning a corner.

I'm with Rasputin, being a Boney M fan from way back.

Speaking of which, many years ago I attended a toast match and watched from the grass at the Subiaco end. (It was the game Worsfold cleaned up Modra.)

I had to stand there listening to toast fans whining non-stop about umpires all afternoon. They won the game and yet couldn't help whinging and complaining. It was like being stuck in a long car trip with your most loathed school teacher.

Really, Freo's problems in the first quarter were not of the umpires making. That we turned it around after quarter time is a credit to the new spirit of the team. The problems up till then were the men not the men in white/yellow/green/paisley/whatever. Play good footy and the umpires suddenly matter a whole lot less.

Raah Rahh Rasputin...

He was mad, you know. Madder than Mad Morty from Maddington, who thinks he's a time travelling alien turnip called Boris. B'Kerk!

I've seen some bad umpiring. I've seen biased umpiring. But that was so bad, it was hard to tell which one it was. But if the AFL can't string together even 3 blokes that can bounce a ball for our games as well, then nothing less than a Royal Commision will sort it out.

Unless Christine Nixon is involved. She'd probably eat half the committee. Or probably has already. W

Isn't it curious that in the West 'snapshots' column for the Freo/Richmond game there is no 'Whistleblowers' entry? Perhaps Ray Wilson is completely speechless on this matter.

Not a great game by the umpires, but then again, I've seen our boys make crap decisions throughout a game too. Unfortunately for the umps, they don't have fans who'll defend them for having a poor game. I boo a bad decision along with the best of them, but I don't think the crowd does our team any favours by booing the umpires off after every game.

I don't know what's come over me. I'm not normally this warm and fuzzy. Generosity of spirit generated by a winning Fremantle...

OK then - take the decisions out of the game (and I reckon there were some howlers). But what about the bounce! Absolute shockers were the norm. This recalling business gives me the irrits and brings the maggots into the spotlight when they should be the support cast in the shadows. Absolute disgrace and I think the occasion got the better of them.
That 16 (Dalgliesh - I'll name names) was umpiring his 9th game I believe. Seemed to me he was blowing the whistle on suspicion at times - back to Auskick for a few weeks I hope.
There you go - and I wasn't going to comment on the decisions!
A nice win by the boys though - always handy to take the points even when you didn't play particularly well.

I go to a game to watch blokes play football, mistakes and all.

I don't go to see 55 free kicks of varying worth paid, the bounce recalled after every misguided attempt when it was quite obvious that conditions were making it difficult or the complete and utter pedantry of the umpires who seemed to think that technical adjudication is a spectator sport.

Can anyone tell me what the free kick count was at quarter time? I had it like 12-2 or something like that but would like to know for sure
