... if we belt the tigers by 100+ and keep them to a low score we could get top spot right?

Who would have thought that after 5 rounds we would have the chance to be on top of the table!
Could the stars be any straighter!?

Anyone know the exact figure we need to win by? or better still the margins we need to overtake different teams above us?

I'm happy with just the 4 points. But a healthy percentage would be a bonus. Go Freo

Ok ok ok... let's haul it up here a bit. The signs have taken a turn for the ominous all of a sudden. We should take a little care here and not get ahead of ourselves.

I'm gonna hold it down to three coffees in the morning, how bout you?

just chillax kids, get the 4 points against the amateur pharmacist's mob then rack up the percentage the next week. We still need to be able to get bets outta these pricks before they start swearing their allegiances to WAFL sides.

Fremantle's average score in four 2010 matches is 16.13-109, while Richmond's is 8.10-58. Such a result in R05 would improve our percentage by 8.7% to 134.5%.
Our best 2010 score (v Geelong) of 18.17-125 and their worst (v Sydney) of 4.12-48 would see our percentage improve by 20.3% to 146.06% and take us just past St Kilda (now 146.03%) and take us to second on the ladder.
These are exciting times. A check through the Ladder to the end of Round 4 for each of our 16 seasons to date (including this season not yet completed)shows that on only six occasions has FFC been in the top eight at the end of the round. Best ladder position to the end of R04 is 5th in 2004 and 2010 with percentages 121.07% and 125.77% respectively).
Those who suggest that we keep our feet on the ground are wise if you consider the following:
In 2004, we had four wins by the end of R05, having beaten Carlton (S), Adelaide (S), Collingwood (Docklands)and Geelong (S). We went on to defeat the Girls by 10 pts in R06 that year. Then the wheels fell off - FFC won only six of the following 16 games...... the three wins to the end of R04 in 2004 converted to 11 wins by R22 and we missed out on the top eight by 4 premiership points (to Essendon).
This year will be different!!

I gave up years ago worrying about what other teams were doing and the ramifications for us. Maybe the 'one game (week)at a time' mantra finally struck a chord with me. As far as I am concerned, the most important game is ALWAYS the next game you are about to play. Play that game with the attitude that you are playing in an elimination final - there is no tomorrow. That is what is within your control. As for any other distraction, 'que sera sera'. A couple of years ago I had the pleasure of being in the change room prior to the game. The sign above the door as you were about to leave the change room and enter the warm up room summed it all up - "INTENSITY NOW".
