I haven't seen any video footage but maybe somebody can help with this one. How can you 'negligently' strike somebody?

I can imagine landing the odd blow because you're a bit miffed or something, but hitting somebody because you weren't paying enough attention just seems a bit odd to me.

Unless he was trying to punch a team mate, missed and connected with McDonald. I'd believe it from a Richmond player if I were sitting in the tribunal

He's a ranga.

I let Jackson have it with both barrels when he was tagging Palmer during a preseason game in early 2009 (?). He kept on trying to grab Palmer's goolies on the paddock, when Jackson came off for a break and was doing the Gatorade wander up the fence, I stood up and let him have it from 5 rows back.

Extra week for ranga traits.

Shane, you might have hit it in one. I reckon, given the chance, even a peaceable bloke like would want to hit a Richmond player given half a chance.

Polly, love ya work. Maybe we can all give him a serve on Sunday!

Now forgive me if I'm wrong, but in the same game did I see Colin Sylvia slip past the ball and plant a pointy bit of his arm on an often glass-like part of a Richmond player's head?

Swear there was a moment's silence from the commentators and then everyone turned away quite leisurely from the disaster. And there hasn't been a peep about it since, even to say he had no case to answer.

Was this, I wonder, because:

i. Everyone reckons he deserved a free hit after being Slimed; or
ii. No-one wants the embarrassment of the Josh Kennedy fiasco to slouch into view again.

Just curious.

After the silence from Melbourne when Pickett broke Crowley's jaw in a similar shepherding off the ball incident, Sylvia got a bit of karma payback I'd say.

Slightly off the topic, but the Tiggers brought up that kid from Alice Springs last week - Troy Taylor - and I assume that he'll be fronting up at Subi this weekend. I was hoping that we would draft him, yet Richmond grabbed him in the Rookie Draft (I believe).

So, apart from booing Benny, yelling at the ranga and chuckling at Simmond's mistakes, there will be something of interest on the other side of the paddock. From what I've heard, what I've seen, Taylor promises to be something special.

The WAFL is starting to fill up with quality Tigger cast offs - there's Kraks (who is the best of the best), Casserly and Roach with the Black Ducks, as well as Collard at Peel (remember Clayton?). Check the field out on Sunday - there could be more heading to the WAFL in the near future.

I must be out of the loop here Polly, but are you saying that Clayton Collard is playing at Peel Thunder?

Yep, playing with the Dunders.

Also Shannon Rioli came into town a week or so ago - will be fronting up with the Bullies league team soon. Some great WAFL action on offer this year.
