While he did play a pretty good game, and was certainly one of the eagles best, he is still far behind Sandi. Nat flashes in and out of play, but its like how we react when hill has the ball, usually something happens when he gets it.
Sandi however is always there, consistent four quarter effort and is very dominating. I think the AFL guys just wanted to put him there to go with his rising star nomination this week.
Morabito for rising stay against the wet toast would be brilliant!

Both those ruckmen kicked a couple and quite a few possessions mind you.

Did you see the round 2 game against Essendon? Sandilands single handedly destroyed Hille and Ryder - not only in the air, but around the ground too. Hille is a good ruckman, but he is coming back from a serious knee injury. Ryder is a pinch-hitter. They aren't any more a formidable duo than Gardiner and King.
Notacluey was a standout because the other 43 players on the field were not much good. Sandilands dominated in a top of the table clash. Even Burgan admitted that he is the most in-form ruckman. PR spin at it's best.

Getting a dream run this notaclui. Kid can go, but I thought Hille outrucked him and Cox, so to have him in front of Sandilands is beyond the pale

If he looked like Mr Floppy Hansen instead of an exotic animal he'd still be in the WAFL.

The criteria to make this team ARUSBN is to be the best player in a position for the week. I saw most of the weazle game and Natawhoiey was average for most of it.He had a couple of decent taps out of his 15 or so hit outs and a flukey clearance(ie. freaking out and handballing in the air, then realising he could get it back and bombing it into the forwardline where a lucky mark was taken). There wasn't much else to his game and most of his touches were of a low quality.
Sandi on the other hand had more than twice as many hit outs(where our midfield was competing against the best defensive midfield in the comp) of which I'm certain many more were to advantage than Natawhoiey, 8 more posessions, 5 more contested posessions and 6 more marks of which 5 more were contested.
Sandi whiped the floor with the Weazle messiah. To claim he had more influence because they won is wrong too. Sandi's contested marking and clearance work saved us minimum 5 goals and contributed to us scoring many more.
Sandi was twice the player Natawhoiey was on the weekend.

In almost every stat, Sandilands was ahead of both King and Gardiner combined. I'd say that goes pretty close to dominated.

No one has said he can't play. We're just saying he wasn't the best ruckman and he doesn't deserve to be named as the best ruckman of the week.
