Umpiring was fine today.
There were some blatant free kicks missed, however there were some for Saints that were missed.
The good teams get the free kicks simply because they go in harder and as a result have to be protected. This is the simple reason why Geelong and Saints seemingly get the best of it. This is something Fremantle are addressing and they are going in much harder and getting some free kicks.
Great game and we aren't that far off it at all.
We now need to not slip up next 2 weeks and solidify he great start with comfortable wins before another tough month of footy.
If we can be 7-4 half way through then we can make a run at the top 4.

Next they will be telling you our seasons up the creek, they're on target to the finals, rising star nicnatpaddywhackgiveadogabone will not only receive the brownlow but be appointed captain, kerr isn't a broken down has been whose arms are abnormally short ( so it's not just your testicles that shrink!) and their only premiership since Fremantle entering the afl isn't tainted (though it will need a bit more that a rub with brasso make it look clean)...

i'd have to say it was one of the umpiring performances of the season... until the final quarter. milne's nothing fifty hurt alot. there'd be ten times a game that goes unpunished, and yet the umpire decides to apply it when momentum is critical.
and then as usual in a close game the whistle was put away in the last five minutes. the umpires seem to avoid making controversial calls at critical times by simply not making any calls at all.
still, it's not why we lost. didn't help us but.

I saw bad umpiring yesterday at Basso - bad enough to brown Granny's shorts. Today's wasn't all that bad. Sorry to see Baker escape without an injury.

Hills penalty for running too far had me baffled. I've seen guys run a lot further than that. Momentum sucker, those are the ones that hurt you most.

For me the umpiring was not that bad at all, decisions that baffled on both sides of the fence, there was a clear trip on a Saints player that was not paid either...play on and get on with it...
A few costly mind snaps that cost us some goals, dinky little handballs that were not there, and a few players who really struggled to keep up in the last quarter.
Headland was proppy when he came out at half time and anyone could see he would not out run a fish in the second half.
