Hase was still throwing himself into the contest and under packs trying to get the ball out in the 4th quarter when everyone was spent. Wasn't his best game, but it's still quality.

I think todays result was an accurate reflection of where we are at. If we're lucky with injuries we should finish between 6-8 on the ladder.
It was a pretty good effort against the form team. In terms of players being singled out I don't think there will be more than one or two for next week.
It's hard to tell with Headland when he's injured and when he's not, he hobbles at the best of times. His first three games have been good in the forward line but I don't think he should be let out of the 50m arc during a game.If he's not injured I'd play him again.
Hase has been solid and I actually thought he was alright today. Didn't hit the target as much as usual but the numbers around the ball made it tough.
JVB and De Boer have been servicable fillers but their skills aren't quite up to it yet. When Palmer and Ibbo are ready I'd be looking at them first to make way.
Mcphee hasn't been too flash so far but after a limited preseason seems to be improving. May benefit from a week or two in the WAFL.
Ballantyne had difficulties getting into it today but should bounce back next week.
Morabito still panics at times and bombs it a bit, but appears to be growing from week to week.
Overall I think it was a pretty good effort and changes should only be made for injuries and first 22 coming back in.
Lets hope they can maintain the pressure on the ball and confidence that we have seen for the rest of the season, it's great to watch!

So Freo o sonearo we more than likely will be 5 - 1 come round 7 and you are confident we can sneak in another 5 wins from the remaining 15 games.
That's great, the boys have obviously made a huge impression on you.

Hase had a bad game but certainly shouldnt be dropped.
While JVB wasnt bad, he made some very bad mistakes. That dropped mark in the first quarter directly resulted in a goal.
Palmer in next week, JVB back to wafl.
Perhaps give roberton a shot and give Mcphee a run in the wafl to find some footy nouse again. He seems to be struggling with nerves a bit.
Overall it was a pretty good game, a bit more development and freo will be a damn good side.

I enjoyed the game today.
We seemed to have a number of kicks and handpasses smothered or cut off, but hey, gotta love the endeavour of the boys.
Haydens 2nd half was beautiful, Broughton good too out of defense.
Even the Saints had turnovers against us.
Things certainly lookin up for the Dockers.
Unveiled the Dockerland Den today. Will fire it up for the away Derby in a fortnight again. Feels like i got the Carbon bar in the backyard now.

People, people. We played the favourites for the flag. In Melbourne. It was by far the most intense game this team has played, ever. Hard, exhausting. It was a great team effort, and no-one IMO played badly enough to deserve being dropped. They were outplayed. Just.
What surprised me was how it was a level harder than last week. Like taking Crash Bandicoot through more stages and getting rewarded with a harder challenge.
That has to be the benchmark for the season, and we acquitted ourselves brilliantly. Bodes well.

Top 8 pfffft, top 4 if they keep that standard up. A loss for once that I'm not completely gutted by. Mora is going to be an awesome player for freo, even noticed a little bit of niggle in him which is good to see. Clancy too. The tough thing for a young team is sustaining this type of footy for a whole year. One game at a time, step 1 - put Richmond to the sword.

I agree with a few of the posters here, Hase was not at his best and Balantyne was MIA. The ground opened up and swallowed Des in the second half. Great team performance though. How good was the big Pav? Mundy is having a great year in the middle. You could see him lift at times it was needed.
Cmon Reese can't wait to see him back in.
I reckon Tarrant wasn't right and Roger was sore.

As Harves pointed out, we were playing 9 first or second year players, and the Saints weren't playing any. Which, for my mind, means we can expect two things between now and September: 1) A little more inconsistency than most other contenders; and 2) A lot more improvement.
I don't know about you, but I'm excited...

They set themselves for the first four weeks and were better than we hoped for - now they have four more.
