Early season predictions aplenty, what is your revised top 8?
Saints
Dogs
Pies
Cats
Lions
Dockers
Hawks
Swans
Maybe freo can push up one or two more spots.
In: Freo, Swans, Hawks
Out: Carlton, Bombers, Crows.

You know how commentators like to set Freo up with the line, "This game is probably the most important one for Freo"
well this week, I think they are right.
If we beat the Saints this Sunday, all mayhem is going to break loose...and anything can happen, and I reckon a top four spot is ours for the taking.

Geelong
Western Bulldogs
Fremantle
St Kilda
Brisbane
Collingwood
Sydney
Hawthorn
Carlton
Essendon
Port Adelaide
Adelaide
Melbourne
Nth Melboune
West Coast
Richmond
Whilst I have picked West Coast to finish 2nd last I accept Woosha saying that they are building towards ultimate success as soon as season 2011. Masten, Shuey, Embley, Priddis, Swift, Naitanui and Nicoski will have learnt how to kick by then.

Isn't there some rule based on history which says that the top 8 doesn't change too much after Rnd 7(?) or something?
Dockers have to hang in there for the next 4 rnds to at least make the finals.
Rnd 4 - Saints ???
Rnd 5 - Tigers yes
Rnd 6 - WCE yes
Rnd 7 - Lions ???
2 out of the next 4 games will keep them in the 8 and hence a good chance of making the finals at 5 and 2. Beating the Saints will be an absolute bonus.

According to my calculations on the AFL ladder predictor thingy, we could end up as high as second or third by round 22. This is going on current form of course, and the fact that we may drop a game or two.

i am just struggling to keep my expectation down. At the start of the season I was happy with 10th spot, stoked with a top 8 finish. But now, my expectations shouldn’t change, but it is hard! I will be happy with 10th, but I will be happier with top 8, and if we finish as high as 6th, I will be STOKED. Considering where we were @ last year, and seeing the Crows game… just keep it in check!

There's also the issue that everyone else must be as surprised as we are at how strong we've started. High in the to-do lists of 15 clubs will be to revise their easybeat-Freo game plan.
Long way to go and it ain't gonna get easier. If we keep the youngsters safe we'll be top 8 though.
