I watched the game again.

While I've been partially blinded by our razzle dazzle how good was Greg Broughton in the last part of the game?

One on one with arguably the games' best small forward, all alone inside 50, and the yellow maggots just waiting to give a free kick to Johnston:

- no punch from this kid.

- I'll just mark it thanks (twice).

I agree. With most rookies who turn out to be decent players there is something in their play that you can identify as the reason that they didn't get picked up in the main draft, even if that reason was given too much weight by recuiters at the time: Pearce arkward kicking style. Barlow: slow. Other clubs, Davey: undersized. Maxwell: undersized for a defender. Broughton? Massive Tank, Ball Magnet, Strong Contested Mark, Excellent Defensive Skills, Beautifull Footskills and shows poise under pressure. Its not just mistifing he wasn't picked up but not picked up in the top 25.

He was excellent last year, even better this year.

Second most possessions behind Ball-Magnet-Barlow.

Reliability at crucial times also - popped up with two great marks on Sunday. Also smothered a kick in the dying seconds in the last derby. He won't let us down....

Can you believe he comes from Subiaco?

I believe that he wanted to get out of Subiaco - happy for him that he's found a better home with Freo.
