The powers-that-be have once again overlooked emerging West Coast teen cult sensation Nic Natanui for this week's Rising Star nomination in favour of some no-name from Sydney.

Pfffft, Rising Star, he's better than that, surely only the Brownlow would do him justice.

But , he was awarded 3 votes as BOG against Port Adelaide by Mister Ray Wilson. ... How sad these Sports writers are.
What a sad , sad , deluded sports writer he is.

To be fair, NicNat could be a pretty good footballer in time......
if he was in a good team......
coached by competent coaches.....
....so I guess what could have been will never be.

the worst's match report rambled on about how bad the umpires were for allowing the oppositon ruckman to make contact with the young bloke. heaven forbid! i watched a bit of the game, and there was plenty of holding going on. nicnat would blatantly try to drawa free by grabbing on to his opposition, then letting go before the ball came down, hoping he'd still be holding on. terrific umpiring IMO.
of course, no mention was made about how sandi's best on ground performance was affected by having three bombers clinging on to him no matter what he was doing.
also, went into my local betting agency today. sandilands is at $67 to win the brownlow... naitanui is at $29??? i can only assume the bookies got the names wrong. nat is still favourite for the rising star, i'd back him to not so much as get a nom this season.

NicNat (aka UnCo) will get a nomination at some point, but that'll just make him one of 22. Which is about where he's at, and where he'll always be. By the time he's figured out what this game's all about, the dreads'll be down to his arse and he'll be getting his thrills from catching a glimpse of some young nurse's thigh in a retirement village.
The real worry, though, is that the mob up the road must be a chance this wk, given they'll be bolstered by the loss of Nicoski. (Is that how you spell it? 'Cause I could REALLY care.)
If Swift does a hammy at training and Lynch turns out for the Cardies again, they could become unbackable.

Poor Ray must have only looked at the 21 possessions and missed the fact that only 33% were effective, thats the lowest I seen. The 6 free kicks for were pretty rich as well just as well he gave 4 of them back to Port.

Flanker,
An extremely intelligent egirls supporter explained to me yesterday that the 33% effective disposals stat was so incredibly low because... wait for it... "he is always surrounded by other players."
Fascinating. I assume that when there are no opposition players on the field, then, he is awesome!

Unfortunately Flyke, Nic Whatalotahooie is still completely unco even when on his own.
Ray hasn't been allowed to twig to that yet
