Escaped Goat

A cloud among the silver lining.
Amongst all the euphoria of our Round 1 performance, we are faced with the stark reality that the escaped goat species may soon be extinct.
In the event we cannot drain our last goat of its red and black blood, and soon gets replaced by the likes of Palmer, Grover, de Boer or Clarke, who will become the next one?
Do we still need an escaped goat if we are winning?
Have we ever had a team without one before?

I think we may have imported a Scottish one.

With the Mrs going to the footy with her friends, junior and I had KFC, served at 5-30 with a few coldies. I counted iii without including the popcorn.

Jury is still out on Flinchy taking that role I would have thought.

A lot will be said about McPhee, who may or may not have done something to his ankle anyhow, but despite not getting much of the ball & not doing much with it when he got it he seemed to be playing on Goodwin.
Goodwin is a pretty handy player, & if this was the case I don't think Goodwin got much of the ball either.
Some will argue that the days of nullifying & not doing damage the other way are long gone, but Flinchy may have been told to sit on the opposition captain and make sure he didn't hurt us. If this was the case he did his job.
That said, he is fair game as an escape goat!
