Thanks Mercs for the link. Wow, nice percentage we got there. The bloke next to me was saying we needed another goal to have ended up in top spot after Rd.1.
I didnt mind them toying around in the backline adding to their stats.

Merc, after watching that performance tonight I reckon you'll be able to print it out each week for the rest of the season!
Can someone explain why we have a lesser percentage than hawthorn when the margins were the same?

i belive the aforementioned 'woman' in the e-girls uniform was actually the corpse of an e-girls player left over from last season that subiaco is yet to clean up. Even the seaguls havent picked at it yet.....
BTW Has anyone seen chickie recently? (or had their hand up him?)

SVS, its a percentage... If you actually calculate it out as a ratio of score FOR over score AGAINST then the slight difference is there. Basically, Tippits point at the end cost us top spot... Percentage is a ratio, the difference between scores is not as important as the ratio between the two scores. Hope thats clear...
Basically, we want to keep the opposition score as low as possible to maximise that ratio.
If you dont know,
Hawthorn 117 vs Melbourne 61
Fremantle 118 vs Adelaide 62
As Melbourne scored less, the ratio was slightly higher.
A long winded explanation to a probably simple question hahaha but thats an engineer for you :P

Our score divided by their score multiplied by 100.
118/62=1.90322581
1.90322581x100= 190.322581

Already done a screen grab and emailed it to all my Slime colleagues - I'm the lonesome Freo supporter in my office and bravely (!) have surrounded myself in Freo posters and my freo calendar plus I was the only one to pick our boys!

Which is why I reckon they should get rid of % and just go on points difference first, then points scored second. Did anyone leave tonight saying what a great 190% win? No - it was a 56 point win.
And one bloody point more for us or less for them and we would have been top.
