Bring Back the Niggle

I've heard the radio review and read a couple of online reports, and all have understated Ballantyne's efforts in today's game. Sure, he only kicked one goal. But he set up at least three others.

But more importantly than that, Ballantyne's tackles in the second quarter gave us the turnovers that generated the goals. I'd go as far as saying that without his efforts we would not have lead the game at half time.

Bring Back the Niggle

Don't worry about the knobbers reporting on the game. Ballas was his usual brilliant self tonight. Huge amount of influence in the middle of the ground and unselfishly set up a number of goals tonight.

Oddly enough the commentators on SEN (sorry I cant bring myself to name them) did comment on how Ballas isnt welded to the forward thirty but comes up the ground and has an impact.

I also noticed on the delayed telecast he continued to get into people's faces and really let 'em every time they stuffed up!!!

He's bringing back the niggle just nicely!

Agreed and motion seconded. I saw him pass off at least one that a certain GHD would have taken for himself.

Ballantyne rocks.

Ballas was awesome and inspiring. He brings a lot of players into the game and his tackles seem to stick more often than not.

Bring Back the Niggle

May i put the notion forward that his hip and shoulder in the last quarter was beautifully executed and it was grossly unfair that it was a downfield free.

Another great game from Balla.

His ferocious tackling is great.

Saw him go off and I heard a taxi go past Subi while I was at the game and I heard them suggesting it could be an AC joint in the shoulder. ANy updates people? Love how he runs round people.

If Hill learns from him, Hill will be sensational to watch too. Hilly has the speed to go around anyone, if he wants.

Hear Hear.

He roamed up the wing many times and his pursuit of the footy is second to none. The boy's got fire in his belly.

There was a moment in the third quarter where he had to sit under a marking contest near the interchange gate and Bock came over the top with a strong spoil that might have collected Ballas scone along with sending him belly down into the turf.

He got up right away but it really took the stuffing out of him. A few minutes later when he marked and handballed to Michael Johnson in the square for a goal, he singled out Bock for a bit of in yer face/ in your chest niggle.

Coach makes a good comment in the post match interview about adding the word "Harrass" to his name.

I don't care how hairy his ass is - the guy is a gem in a dozen different ways. This kid has the footy smarts, knows where his mates are, knows how to mark, knows how to get a contested ball loose, knows how to find the big sticks, knows how to fire up a team, knows how to get under an opposition players skin.

Worth his weight in Texas Crude.

How much are barrels of crude going for these days Polly?

Do we get a club discount when we fill up at the servo or pay our gas bills thanks to Woodside comin on board as a sponsor?

Balla really fires up during the games. Anyone know what those animals are called that explode when they get over excited? Thats what I reckon he is...
