Chris kicked a few beauties tonight - you've got to admire this kid (a lot). Even amongst that sorry lot at Carrrrlton, Chris has quietly gone about his business and put in a blinder for a season opener.
Another quality footballer lost to those knobbers out east.

Only saw the last half due to a weekly commitment* and he was good. However, Richmond was not. Let's hope that Yarran can keep up this quality when the Blues face tougher teams.
*Mixed netball comp. (Yeah, for those who know my age and dodgy knees, it is stupid. But I do get to play with pretty girls.)

Yarran's got talent and is worth watching, no doubt about it. But Merc's right: next door's gum tree that fell over in a storm and then got turned into wood chips would look good against Richmond. (Maybe I'm paraphrasing rather too liberally. Sorry, Merc.)
When does a club that's been a basket case for so long get told that it doesn't have a 'proud tradition'? When does it get told that 'playing for the jumper' is a bit embarrassing when all the jumper's represented, for the past quarter of a century, is abject failure born of massive managerial incompetence?
