Just before it becomes a contents of who can make the most middle of the road Cometti like prediction - fourth.
I'll accept Geelong, St Kilda and the Western Bulldogs will be hard to catch. Everyone else is a chump.

Second. I'm banking on Geelong being distracted by the Ablett contract and St Kilda being derailed by the Lovett thing, leaving us to play off in the granny against Footscray.
I think we'll lose.

2009:
Saints
Cats
Dogs
Pies
Crows
Lions
Blues
Bombers
Hawks
Power
Slime
Swans
Roos
Freo
Tigers
Dees
2010:
Well, I'm certain that Richmond and Melbourne have not taken over us. Judging from a week ago, we've overtaken the Roos.
Obviously we are better than the OOFTIT, and I think we can best the bombers and Blues.
that puts us at 10th.
if we win some unexpectadly, 8th
if we lose some unexpectadly, 12th
on the other hand, Shane makes a good point...
I'm going to say... 3rd.
pffft, bulldogs. Over the hill.
Geelong and Saints are the real threats, and to be honest, I reckon we could best either on a good day. Lets hope that good day comes in september.

Any team that recruits SOB and Lovett deserves to drop severely down the ladder. Some Cats will have eyes for the Gold Coast (they loves their ranga's down Geelong way).
My prediction is iiird behind Fooscray and the Pies (Mick's last year).

I think the top 3 are sewn up with stkilda, geelong and the dogs. adelaide and collingwood will be much the same as last year. brisbane i think are a show and port look sharp. hawks are hit and miss. i think id be happy with 9th or 10th so long as the E-girls are below us!

I tend to agree with Sav; however I take Shane's point.
There are the obvious top 3; and then there is the rest.
The variables surrounding whether we can put the best team on the park often enough, will largely dictate where we end up; as it will with every other club.
Totally best case scenario and we can finish fourth. (When you are there then anything can happen)
Totally worst case and we are down at 12th.
A bit of luck for a change and we might get a final.
It is certainly going to be interesting.

We'll be much harder to beat at home and we have most of our away games at Etihad. On that alone we should be a chance for top 8. If we were playing all our away games at Etihad I'd be very confident of a top 8 finish. As it is, I'm just quietly confident.

To be perfectly honest, ladder position and wins don't really interest me this season. I'll measure the success of the season based on the imrovement in the blokes drafted in the last 3 seasons.
If they improve on the individual areas of their games as well as settle into the structures and plans Harves is after, we'll do very well. Probably finals.
If all goes to plan, next season will see a strong run at the top.
