The night the dockerland Syndicate has been waiting for is almost upon us. Come this Monday night the 31st of October 2005 the dockerland Syndicate will have two runners on the same card. ?The Sheriff is back?? I hear you ask. I wish I could say that was the case but unfortunately I have to say, ?No not as yet.?

Showground Larry, the first of the two dockerland runners, goes around in the fourth race jumping from the favourable box three. The syndicate?s second runner is the latest recruit to join dockerland. Sheriff and Showground?s sister Vivify makes her debut for the dockerland Syndicate in the tenth, being the final on the card, jumping from; you guessed it, the horrendous box eight.

We came close a few weeks back to having two runners on the one night when both Showground Larry and Sheriff Austin were named in their respective races but disappointment struck when Sheriff broke down and had to be scratched.

The Syndicate?s new purchase, Vivify, is being trained by Trevor Radford, otherwise known as T-Rad. He has nominated and gained her a start in the grade four 297 metre blink and you?ll miss it sprint. She has been given the Docker box in the eight but will hopefully somehow over come it and run a nice race first up. She did win over this distance on the Cannington track seven starts back in a very handy 17.58 seconds but did so from box three and in grade five. The task ahead on Monday night is with a much greater degree of difficulty. However, these 297 metre dashes are deadset raffles so we?re in the race and in with a hope.

Check out the Viv's logo - http://www.dockerlandracingsyndicate.com/viv.jpg

Vivify has had twenty nine starts in the West for four wins, three seconds and two thirds totaling stake money of $3660. On paper, drawing box hell in a red hot sprint, is not the best way we would like to kick off her dockerland career but the T-Rad does a magnificent job, knows what he?s doing and he?s got everything under control.

Showground Larry is going around in race four jumping from the three box. We need him to fire in this and make the most of the half decent box. It?s not an easy race though because Fabulous Phil Evans has a very smart one in box five who scorched around Cannington in 30.67 seconds last night and there is a newcomer from Sydney in box four.

Adding to the night?s festivities is the return of the Fremantle Dockers? infamous Whaler Widd. After several setbacks he finally has made it back to the track and will take his position in race eight drawn box six. Helen and Pete Sayer have been incredibly patient and generous in getting Whaler back. It doesn?t look an overly strong field but the fact there isn?t seven vacant boxes says the Whaler may find it a touch tough.

Following on with the Docker theme, Jimmy Walker also makes a rare Cannington appearance. Its rare because he struggles to run out a strong Cannington 530 metres. However, the T-Rad has hold of the reigns and there?s very few others you want in control.

So the program reads like this ?

Monday 31st October
Cannington Greyhounds

Time - 6.53pm
Showground Larry
Race 4. Box 3

Time ? 8.17pm
Whaler Widd
Race 8. Box 6

Time ? 8.36pm
Jimmy Walker
Race 9. Box 4

Time ? 20.55pm
Vivify
Race 10. Box 8

Note there is no sky channel coverage of this meeting. So if you want to watch the Docker dogs go around then head out to Cannington and see them live. In some cases some of the above dogs may be barely live by the end of their races but get out there just the same.

If you?re out there and you spot that Gary ?Guru? Wilson then have it out with him. He said on racing radio a few weeks back that Showground Larry would run 77th in one of his races. Sure he ended up being right but don?t let that get in the way of getting into him. The bloke loves a mars bar so leave a trail of them out to carpark and when he shows up, which he no doubt will, you jump him and sort him out. Good luck Guru, you?re going to need it pal.

Lets hope for a big Fremantle Docker successful night.
