Nat Fyfe is expecting to play footy this weekend and will fly to Victoria where Fremantle think they may have found a "specialist" who can give them the all clear. Fyfe's shoulder went bung on the weekend and he had to be put into the red vest of shame, with many concerned (mostly Protestants and hysterical women) that Fyfe would be out for the entire season, severely curtailing his Brownlow medals chances.
Now it seems a bit of strapping and a couple of extra lollies before the game and he'll be good to go on Friday night...assuming the “specialist” gets on the trolley.
Scans revealed that Perth doctors are apparently not capable of working out if a shoulder is busted or not and Fyfe will be shipped off to Victoria where they have a 3 year postgraduate course in bung shoulder (4 years if you want to be accredited on both the left and right shoulders).
In less exciting news, Josh Mellington has also been sent to Melbourne as part of Fremantle's help providing work for surgeons struggling with the Victorian economy. His doctor didn't waste any time with the add-ons and has ruled a line through most of Mellington's season by sending him in for hamstring surgery.
Adam McPhee was uninjured in the match on Saturday.
