For the first time in a decade, Freo haven't got into the spirit of trade week. They had a nibble at Jonathan Hay, Daniel Gilmore had a peek over the fence to see if he could find a buyer and 12 press releases were released denying a rumours that the esteemed members of the media picked up from the bloke who sleeps under the tram depot, but at the end of the week they stayed out of trading and will go into the draft next month brandishing the number 10 draft pick. In the end, Jonathan Hay made his way to Hawthorn for a convoluted deal involving picks 14, 18, Byron Pickett and Dean Laidley's the first born. Other trades of note were Jade Rawlings to the Kangaroos to play with his brother Brady, Patrick Bowden to Richmond to play with his brother Joel and Kevin Sheedy's 1982 Sigma for Neale Daniher's Datsun Patrol.
