The weekend at the greyhound track with the dockerland Dogs turned up the results as expected. On Friday night the T-Rad put Vivify around at Mandurah and while she finished fourth it was extremely encouraging. She jumped well and at one stage looked a possibility to lead. After getting squeezed up and knocked around on the first bend she set off after the two leaders. Having not had a 500 metre run for some time it was taking its toll as the Viv looked to be struggling down the back straight. But she got her second wind and desperately tried to keep going. She managed a very credible fourth placing and in the shadows of the post she was taking ground off the three in front of her. Vivify showed all the signs that she will win her low grade 530 metre races and maybe more. With three cheques from four starts we couldn?t ask for too much more from her.

Next we headed to Cannington Saturday night. Showground Larry was lining up in the heat of the Anniversary Cup. It was a massive step up in class from his top grade five win last week. We lined up against the best sprinter in WA at the moment and, as expected, we didn?t damage its reputation. Larry missed the jump and then most of the others were off and gone. On the first turn there was a massive collision which saw a runner hit the deck. Larry copped the backwash and did very well to stay on his feet. After that his race was virtually over but he battled on to finish 6th. Given the trouble Larry copped its understandable he pulled up sore in the calf muscle. Pete will give him the royal treatment and will have him up roaring to go in no time. When you?re in good form you have to have a crack at the big races when they come along. However, Larry will now return to his more suitable grade five and do his best.
