Showground Larry, as honest as they come, couldn?t get a decent cardboard box from Coles the way he?s traveling. From his last seven box draws he?s landed the horrendous box eight on four occasions. Almost 60% from box eight. Nice random selections right there. Anyhow he?ll put is best foot forward, as he always does, and battle the elements thrown up against him. This Saturday night the 3rd February he jumps from the squeeze, being the five box in race five at 8.27pm. He continues to surprise us but this is genuinely tough as he has enormous early pace from dogs either side of him to contend with. However apart from that it?s not an overly tough race and if he sat second or third in the clear then it could be somewhat interesting. The problem is, as we all know, most races are won and lost at the jump. The Larry then butters up and heads back to Cannington on Wednesday the 8th of February where he has been given?.you guessed it?.box eight. Race four at 8.10pm is his shot and, to be honest, if he gets around safely I?ll be happy, regardless of where he runs.

I?m not getting off the box draw stitched up and shafted bitching train just yet.

Vivify has drawn ten boxes for the dockerland Syndicate. You got to feel for Trainer Deano Starkie. He?s taken her on for us out of the goodness of the bloke?s heart and he?s yet to draw a box inside about forty eight. I?m sure she actually started from the second row of the grandstand one night recently. She?s got a pearler of a record. Two box eights, three box sevens, a six box, two fives, one two and one three. Vivify will land the powerball before she lands a half decent draw. Apart from recent history you only have to look as far as this year when you see us Dockers have got two Tasmanian trips within one month. So you can see we?re used to being shafted but we soldier on. Tuesday the 7th of February sees Vivify in race five drawn box 7 at 4.59pm.

So how do you like them apples? Twenty seven boxes drawn and on eleven occasions we?ve been handed the seven or eight. 40% strike rate?not too shabby. I wonder if the bloke who hands out the draws wouldn?t mind coming to the casino with us and we?ll get him to do our roulette betting.

But alls fair in love and war. Our day will come where we may draw inside of box seven. Possibly Satan should start looking at investing in a pair of ice skates but the day will hopefully come. Meanwhile both the Larry and Viv will continue to bust their humps for the dockerland Syndicate members starting this Saturday night.
