A battle weary Sydney team have limped into Fremantle this week where they’ll be challenging the Fremantle Dockers for the right to go over to Melbourne and collect a flag from the Victorians. It’s a big week for the Swans but for the highly professional and down to earth Dockers, it’s just Round 26 of the season and a chance to consolidate the process against a reasonable opposition. It’s been a difficult road to the Grand Final for Fremantle in that they’re yet to be tested against a really good side but you can only beat who they send you and, be it Melbourne, GWS or Geelong, Fremantle have stayed focussed on the process and not the outcome. This week the process has involved dropping Tom Sheridan and bringing in a handy player by the name of All Australian Michael Johnson. The Swans have lost Tippet and Tom Mitchell to leg joint injuries and have brought in Gary Rohan and Ben McGlynn to improve the mobility of their deckchairs.
