2. Blue Monday | Carlton Like most of the Blue’s Mondays, spent talking about what went wrong
3. Blutigeroo | Chris Judd Named after Chris’s choice of footy clubs. Over raced and out of form but the trainer refuses to give it a spell.
4. Gallic | Shaun McManus Old stayer who always goes the distance and never gives up. Had a lot of injuries and won’t want to waste what could be his last go round.
5. Railings | Drew Banfield No one can work out why he’s there.
6. Efficient | Fremantle This time last year, people were tripping over themselves to jump on board the next big thing but a turn of fortune this year has seen them jump off just as quickly. Got the talent if it can find some luck.
7. Maybe Better | Gary Ablett Jr Son of a champion. Starting to look like he might be better.
8. Tungsten Strike | Matthew Carr Never seems to be doing anything. Will cruise around with the pack with his hooves in his pockets before coming home strong.

10. Black Tom | Ryan Murphy Killed them when going against the local WA competition but will find it hard to do as well at the national level.
11. Master O'Reilly | Geelong In form and everything is going right. Been hard to beat this year, just a question of whether it can finish off a perfect campaign.

13. Lazer Sharp | Darren Glass Will be a long way back.
14. On a Jeune | St Kilda Tried changing the trainer to make it less average but went backwards.
15. Scenic Shot | Dean Laidley Unfashionable West Australian who will give an honest account and go further than most expect. Track will suit.
16. Sarrera | Barry Hall Not as rough as he's made out to be but you still wouldn't want to test the theory.
17. Sculptor | Port Adelaide Unusually feminine. Has come from nowhere to make it to the big day. Could easily go back to nowhere.
18. Dolphin Jo | Shane Parker Not the most gifted but has a habit of beating more fancied opponents.

20. Sirmione | Steve Johnson Has given connections a lot of trouble over his career but had the hard word put on him on the training track and hit form at the perfect time.
21. The Fuzz | West Coast Won a soft cup and got carried away. Not as good as supporters thought it was and has been found out.
22. Eskimo Queen | Justin Kositzke Might be good if it didn’t keep falling over.
