Fremantle’s hopes of securing their third premiership by 2017 has hit quite a serious setback after they fell several points short of a win in the 2015 preliminary final against Hawthorn. A win would have secured Fremantle a spot in the Grand Final,which they were sure to win, and then it would simply be a matter of doing repeating that feat twice more. Sadly the plans wll have to be postponed until 2018 now. Fremantle flew out of the blocks, to thorough applause from the home crowd and many left the ground after 10 minutes to try and secure a flight for to Melbourne, unfortunately things went backwards quite quickly and Fremantle were 3 goals down at the first change and into half time. But Fremantle used that extra run in their legs from their week off and came back hard in the second half. They clawed their way back within striking distance before buggering it up with some buggering about in defense. In the end, it went the same way as the 2013 Grand Final, Fremantle made too many mistakes to beat a team as good as Hawthorn.
