Freo Go For Percentage Mark Harvey has resisted the temptation to rest anyone under 25 for this weekend's training session against North Melbourne and instead will try and turn Sunday into a percentage boosting charge up the ladder. Many experts predicted the game would be a chance for Fremantle to give some of their older players a send off of sorts while keeping the youngsters fresh for the competent football clubs they'll face in a few weeks time but Freo have decided just to rest SCOS Silvagni who's had some trouble with his ankle in recent weeks. The usual suspects have been added to the bench while the Kangaroos have had to leave Daniel Wells at home, brining Petrie, Hale, McIntosh and Norris into the side with an ambitious view that it will make a difference on Sunday.
Freo Formguide: Freo v Nth Melbourne Having no supporters to speak of, the AFL are reluctant to let the club formerly known as the Kangaroos play non-Victorian clubs in Melbourne so the North Melbourne Kangaroos will head over to WA this weekend to do what they do best - provide an eighth match for the television stations to broadcast. The Kangaroos aren't in what you'd call red hot form since replacing Dean Laidley with the evil Scott twin. In fact, last week they lost by 70 points to the formerly struggling Western Bulldogs. The week before that they almost lost to Adelaide - yes Adelaide. But the Roos have had some mixed fortunes in WA over recent years so will come over with some confidence. False confidence but it's better than nothing.
Nat The Newie a Rising Star The AFL has finally gotten it's act together and nominated a Docker for the Rising Star Award. Claremont's giant handed Nat Fyfe has been given the nod to go around calling himself a rising star this week after touching up Ryan O'Keefe and generally running amok at the SCG. Fyfe's high flying marks and ability to maneover his tiny frame through the smallest of gaps, combined with his balance and laser guided kicking skills have caught many a purple eye this season but it has take the AFL House types over a month to catch on...which is better than they normally perform.
