The invisible man

I always reckon Haselby is invisible. He gets almost always gets 20 odd possesions but is unsighted. I always think he hasn't done much in this game then see his stats and he has tricked me again. Does anyone else notice this? Surely if he continues on his way he will walk into another year with the club, unless his body has reached its expiry date.

I would have far preferred the Hase to be resigned for three years than Mcphee, so I would believe he would certainly get a few more yearly tickets to the big show...

the good thing about hase is he's a no fuss player. he gets the ball, he moves it on to another player. even though he does it 20+ times per game no one notices him, cause he never does anything speccy. he always prefers the simplest method to the most impressive.
the only time he put a foot wrong on sunday was when he got done for holding the ball. amazing how he gets three seconds to move the ball along, and then gets tackled by a guy who was standing two metres away the whole time... but yes, besides that he played the perfect game, and we would have been lost without him.

Roger is the other invisible man. He's so unhurried - looks like he's joined in a casual game while taking the dogs for a stroll around the park.
So economical - he moves in slow motion, as if he's in one of those music vids where the singer is standing there while everyone else rushes around in double time.
A while back I read The Fermata by Nicholson Baker, about a bloke who learnt the trick of suspending time. Unlike Roger he used it to do saucy things to his co-workers, but that's another story.

I keep saying how good Haselby has been this year.
Try watching what he does off the ball as well. Watch him on any replay and look at him doing things like getting the ball out to a free player and then shepherding the opposition player away from the ball carrier. His marking has been brilliant as has his poise throughout the season.
I still get a smile when i remember him 'face planting' coxeee at subi in one of the derbies last year. Best darn 50 meters i ever saw.
Hase! One of my favourites!

I think his mark in the 3rd quarter against Essendon was a pretty good effort then he finished it off with a goal; but I know what you mean. He is efficient and effective.

Can't be that good... it's only a month or two since someone was bangin' on about getting rid of him.

It must be Haze's blistering speed that give him that air of invisibility!

Wasn't me but there is something to be said for a one year contract. Look at how Chops is going right now.
