Bear season

List 'em here, folks. I reckon they'll be falling from trees all over the place...

Nisbett on a national reserves comp

phoning a coach is ok

errr... no it's not, John. Admit it, you had no idea what was going on. You said it yourself..."I think they were talking to Simon Eastaugh".

... "who I think is in Perth".

Vague. Guilty. Doomed.

Do they want a reserves competition because "they believe" that their current side is good enough to win it?

You know what: if you had the self-professed wealthiest, best resourced and most professional football club in the land, and a new ruck combination of the most exciting young ruckman since Daniel tapped it down the throats of the lions and a mighty superstar working his way back from injury, and you were caught with them on the phone at three-quarter time while your senior coach loitered around in the background waiting to get his Nokia back because it emerged you hadn't bothered to send your ruck coach away with the team and you didn't have anyone on the ground capable of coaching them, I think you'd have been smart to say they were on the phone to a bookie in Hydrabad and you'd thrown the game.

While I was at it, I'd have said we chucked in the first two games as well. Certainly would have had the ring of truth about it.

That would be the lesser of two evils.

Instead, we're stuck with the lesser of two Weavils.

Spot on, Zorro... why would you need to leave a ruck coach at home, if there is a need to speak to that coach during a game? You either need a coach or you don't.

Therein lies the problem with this mob... they don't even know they need a coach.

I am not sure if anyone else saw it, but I am sure I saw a bear streaking across the ground late in the 4th quarter in that awesome win!

Matty from a distance it looked like a bear, but it was a roo bouncing the ball and wearing 29 on it's back gave that's what gave it away.

I'm confused and my feelings are mixed.

It appears that the Freo footy club has, as a result of it's unprecedented success, now become a bear (what is the collective noun for a bunch of bears?).

The Toast need not look to a mobile phone for distraction, who cares about the big Q, who gives a fat rats left one whether Nancy Bollard gets suspended? I'll tell you who - nobody, nobody at all because the good guys up the road are on fire and that will be enough. We shall not be ignored.

Grub, I think it is called a sloth of bears which is quite appropriate really. Expect more sloth from the slime this week!

For the first time I am siding with Cousins on this one. Playing for Richmond would make anybody drink.

"battle for the paddle". market that one AFL.
