I ventured over to the Western Seaboard last week and had a beverage with Mercury at the Seaview.

(It was actually about four beers and numerous Southern Comforts and Coke, followed by Rum and Coke, followed by Vodka and Raspberry in Freo - man I was pissed by the end of the night).

The Seaview wasn't too bad. We scored good positions and didn't have to wait for the next drink to arrive. Volume was at a reasonable level, although those Freo MOB folk kept trying to get money from us through various raffles.

Overall (from what I remember) 8/10 - but that could be rated higher because we won.

Company was 10/10 though. Merc is a good bloke!

Vodka and raspberry????

My god, hand in your mancard immediately. Shame I wasn't there to straighten you back out.

Merc is a top bloke. Shame I missed the day.

The Oxford Hotel in Leederville / Mt Hawthorn is very pleasant. You don't have to drink the lagers from the big two breweries and they won't hit you if you ask for a vodka and raspberry. Maybe.

I wear my Freo scarf and/or cap and the ambience is neutral. I wouldn't go so far as to use roman numerals, though.

Unfortunately Merc had to leave immediately after the game. So I had to fly the drinking flag for both of us and pretty much the other 14 DuFFLers that didn't show.

The Vodka and Rasberries were free because apparentely I shouted about 10 people pints after we got up. Followed by a dozen high fives.

By the way, I get three man cards in life. I'm down to two.

I reckon vodka and rasberries should cancel all man cards - for life.

It just seems......ummm a bit west coast to me.

Yep, vodka and razzleberry is positively pink, mate - I assume you're heading to Shark Park this weekend?

Wouldn't worry about weevils supporters anyway Rocky. Only good for cheap entertainment value at the best of times.

Try this one GF, plan a good solid day of drinking with some of your friendly fellow Dockerlanders down at the Seaview, get promised some beers by Merc and a cool Newspaper mask from Goves, plan your whole weekend around it and then at the last minute get stung by the old: "lunch with the in-laws" chestnut that you can't get out of. Best way to ruin a good drink.

Hey GF, Im up your way and to tell you the truth I've yet to find much in the way of a decent pub to watch the footy.
I was living in Greenwood a couple of years back and was staggering distance from The Greenwood, they have a great sports bar with a few screens and a TAB on premises, there is usually a decent atmosphere without being too crowded.
I was a regular there then and still head back occasionally now.
Im a member so go to the home games but usually just kick back at home for the away games these days.

I reckon I will probably venture down to Freo a couple of times on the train this year though, starting with the Saints game.

Im staggering distance from....no pubs, but Cannington Dogs is a good hike away. Nowhere really to watch away games thats why I am working on the Dockerland Den. It will be a haven to watch the away games, moonshine might be sold and Friday nights will be on as soon as I can plug into Seven Central with the ole Foxtel Dish a neighbour threw over my fence.

The Reno-ed garage is lookin a bit like a drive in meets a tiny 1 bed funky studio.

We wont need to wait to watch delayed games.

In the interim, still hope to get to the Seaview for a game unless another christening, wedding or in law do comes up...
