Good news, yes the planets do seem to be aligning for a change, the only negative I can see is if when we smash the Cats it will be "they have only beaten two average teams and a severly undermanned Cats", still we can only concentrate on beating whatever team fronts.

So did that mean that Scarletts can be reduced to a reprimand with an early plea or are they both out for a week?

From the AFL website: "Scarlett was charged with reckless conduct, low impact and groin conduct, resulting in five activation points and 225 demerit points that can be reduced by 25 per cent with an early plea."
Much as this invites comment, I'll leave it in Scarlett's hands to explain....
On a much brighter note, to borrow that great 1972 'Gough-sim', "It's time". ("Yes, we can" is a bit too contemporary for someone born in '49).
It's time because:
i. we have lost seven games on the trot to Geelong, our last win being in 2005 at the Cattery;
ii. the Cats are distracted by these two 'holidays' for their players, esp if they front the tribunal;
iii. the Cats have played two close ones and only just got out of jail;
iv. the Cats had to drive all that way back to Geelong, then all the way back to Tullamarine, all in the space of six days, then fly all the way across the country to the far West - they won't know where they are;
v. when we play them in Melbourne the crowds are relatively small (17 to 20 K at Kardinia) - there will be 34 000 Freo supporters on Sunday to a paltry few Cats supporters;
vi. we have the talent to knock 'em off this time.
The planets are aligned. It's time! Let's make it so.
If we wanted to just ice the cake, surely Subiaco Oval should be out of bounds for training for the Cats, just like it is for us at Docklands.
