Selection Rnd 3

Moving on, there would appear to be a need to replace Ibbo and Taz for the crucial game against the Cats.
Three possiblities exist in my view - Bradley, Pearce and Dodd.
Both Pearce and Dodd had good games in the WAFL. Bradley travelled to Melbourne as an emergency.
I think Pearce for Ibbo. Leaves Dodd and Bradley to counter the most dangerous tall forwrd at the Cats viz. Ottens. McPharlin on Mooney goes without saying.
Who is it to be?
Mind you I'm hopingh Taz can recover.

I would swap ibbo for Deboer (if ready) or shammer.
Read somwhere the Tarrant might be OK and might play against the cats as it not seriously....it looked like he tripped on own shoelaces.. i mean what happened to him???

Ibbo for Nat Fyfe. Harvs rates him and so do I.

i'd love to see palmer back in for ibbo! he played a great game for easts league side from all reports. though it seems harves is keen to keep him in the wafl for another week or 2! they were saying on PR mooney and scarlett both might have cases to answer too from todays game but seeing as they are playing a red hot freo side the awfl will make sure they are full strength!!

Fyfe and Bradley made the trip on the weekend, Harvs in his press conference said Taz should be right, so I expect Fyfe to be next cab off the rank. He has shown he's a big game player, starring in the colts granny and WA u 18's final. Another tough kid with a good footy brain and knows where the goals are.
When questioned about Palmer he said still needs more time.

I thought deboer and pearce were rookies so can't play? Or have we got a spot to elevate someone?
If taz is injured maybe fyfe in to release Johnson to go back and shammer in for ibbo

Go get 'em Byron.
Don't want more injuries, but it's a damn shame deBoer can't get a game.

Can rookies play any games for the year or do they have to elevated first? If they can play a certain amount of games for the year then I would love deboer to come in for ibbo. Has deboer played any wafl this year?
If he is unavailable I think Scham should come in. He will know he's playing for his life if he gets squeezed into the team and I don't think he will dissapoint.

I think we have room to move in another rookie?? We have done 3 so far and I think we had room for 4?? However De boer is coming back from an injury so probably wouldn't come straight in. I suppose it depends on what type of players you want but most likely it would be Fyfe or Scammer. Fyfe if you go by last weeks squad. Schammer if you go by seniority.
How great is it that we have possibly 4-5 players to take that spot (Fyfe, Schammer, Palmer, Pearce etc)?
If Taz doesn't come up I think that wouold be a greater lose. With Groves out that leaves Dodd?? to come back in to defence. I can see why they elevated Silvagni as we would have been stuffed without him playing down back.

If Taz is out then McPhee will probably head to the back line. Leaving 2 spots in the midfield. I would have Schammer and DeBoer for anti-cat tenacity otherwise Fyfe if you want another target up forward and he can possibly replace some of Ibbo's run-n-carry.
If Taz is ok then we have plenty of choice. And choice is nice.

For Tarrant (if necessary): Move Johnno back, maybe McPhee as well for some more bulk in defence, and bring Bradley in as relief ruck and resting forward. Not perfect, but not bad, and keeps Bradley in the loop (he'll be needed before this season's done).
For Ibbo: I'm not a Schammer fan but, assuming De Boer and Palmer aren't ready, I think he's the right choice for the next couple of games. He'll be desperate and fearless, which we'll need, and he's got experience. He's also doing okay at WAFL level, and it's good to demonstrate to players on the outer that there is hope for redemption. Fyfe is obviously an exciting prospect, but to throw him to the Cats and Saints is a fearsome proposition. Let Schammer get that chalice, and maybe young Tim can get a run against the Tiges and Easybeats.
