Personally i would have easilly picked Pearce over Van Berlo; and i am not sure what is going on with De Boer. Will he still be able to play this year after putting grover and posssibly Thornton on the long term injury list?

If De Boer was not injured he would be my first pick after Barlow. goes in hard and seems to love the challenge. Pearce has a bit of the unpredictable about him though and a great kick. Cant pick em all unfortunately

I agree about De Boer, and i certainly have nothing against Van Berlo but we already have two superstar small forwards in Ballantyne and Mayne and i don't see the effect that a third will have. Pearce would have much more impact on the game.

Chopper ain't that small.
He plays taller than he appears.

He'd make Lachy Reid look tiny on the tv - and balder.

It's as much about age as it is talent - both VB and Silvagni are 22.

All our rookies have shown plenty of talent so far but does the elevation of Van Berlo and Silvagni mean that DeBoer and Pearce don't get to play this year?

Mayne is 188cm, only 3cm shorter than Fev.
Not a small forward.
It's all about fwd line structure - we have Pav, MJ, DJ and Chopper as forward targets, with Hill, the Mayor and VB as the small crumbers.
The mix of those 7 depending on defensive matchups looks like a bloody good fwd line to me.
