All the blokes on our rookie list are at the very least, justifiable early third round selections. At least. I have seen far far worse taken in first or early second round than Broughton or DeBoer. And I know you have too!

Tom Swift!

Do you reckon 'rofl' was coined before or after Swift came on the scene?

I reckon after. Hands down.

We built that rookie list over two very strong drafts so now we have our own private stash to choose from when the draft is compromised by the GC and GWS. It was a master stroke of forward planning and I can't believe every other club didn't do the same......or maybe they did but they didn't do it very well.

Given Will Brodie got it so wrong with us can he be taken seriously?

I'm going to take the N/A for players missing from North's team as meaning they are all crabs and not worth worrying about.

It's almost paradoxical. Any team would be v.happy with Broughton's first season if they'd drafted him with a first round pick, yet you'd never be able to trade him for a first round pick.

And if you're going to talk to Egrrls supporters about Tom Swift, mention his neck... they don't seem to like that.

When you look at what the rookie draft has yielded: Hayden, Sandilands, Michael Johnson, Broughton, DeBoer and Barlow and compare that to some of our first round picks: Riley Dunn, Ryan Murphy, James Walker and Leigh Brown. You wonder don't you?

Obviously you get more opportunities in the rookie draft but aren't these supposed to be players that the draft ignores?

Hayden, Sandi and Johnno are all top ten picks.

Bloody hell Superswede - I was trying to be serious!

I can't be serious when talking about Tom Swift cos this tune always pops into my head:

"Ballantyne, Broughton and Bradley battled manfully" and "Did not play: Headland, McPharlin, Sandilands, Dodd, Mayne, Hinkley, Mundy, Grover, Palmer."

Did I understand the article correctly?

It's a time and space thing. He didn't have the time to do his research properly and as a result he is a waste of space. Nice sentiments though!

Michael Johnson wasn't a rookie. He was picked up in the 2004 pre-season draft.
