port adelaide made a habit of winning the pre season comp and then took it into the season proper ( 2001 2002) this installed a 'winning culture' in their younger players and a premiership eventualy came 2 years later.

rob paul and pay the piper i rection....... while going on tilt now and having a full on crack at the next two games will most definately cost us later in the year .....the real question is... are we really looking to september this year or would the experience these guys get now from winning a nab cup be more valuable in years to come...?

But if we do go on to win the next few games won't we most probably need our best, most experienced players on the park? And if we used them I'm not sure how much good that would do for our younger players and their confidence down the line.
I would love for us to win the next couple but for no other reason than I like winning!

I'd like to see Freo win the NAB cup as much as anyone else here but lets not forget we have tough games in the opening four rounds. If we win two of those, we set up the rest of the season nicely.
Winning the NAB cup won't do us any good if we gets pantsed the rest of the season.
I think Harvs hit the nail on the head when he said he'd rather win round 1 than the NAB cup.
Ahhh, what the hell. Lets just win everything !!!
