Jess Chrichton will be the one to watch for me if he gets a run. Very handy player; thinks fast, acts fast, is fast. Also uses it very well. Glad to see he's trimmed the locks. That hair was all a bit Bon Jovi circa 1980's.

I understand that its the nab cup and that round 1 of the h&a season is the main team focus.
I also understand that it is vital to the preparation for the long hard season ahead to rest players and give the younguns a go; but wouldn't it be nice to just get one back on the saints and then just snaffle up the piece of available silverware and add it to our derby trophies.
No Mayne, no Ballas, no McPharlin, no Mundy but by crikey the team still looks good to me.
Good luck boys.

If Clarke & Bradley are fit it would be crazy to take a 211cm goliath across the country twice in 4 days. Leave the big man at home & let's see how the other guys go. Other than that it looks a pretty fair squad. Walters slotting into that Ballas position should be fun to watch...

'Rest' Bally? Could you ever 'rest' Ballantyne? I would have thought that 'resting' this guy would be an impossible proposition. You can take him out of the side for a game, but I don't think he will ever be 'at rest' somewhere.
And, while I'm at it, holding Man Mountain back is just anther ploy by one of the Steves at Docker Central Control to avoid paying Virgin Blue for extra leg room on the flight over/back (which means extra Tasty Cheese/Cracker packs for the rest of the guys I suppose). The BIG question, who fills in the empty spot on the Uno game?

After Mayne's game last week it seems crazy to rest him.
Would have thought after having such a good game he, and the coaching staff, would have wanted hit to get the confidence to do it a couple of weeks in a row.
Any more news on Bally? Is he being 'rested' or has he come up with an injury? Would have thought he could have done with a few good games in a row also unless he has hurt his knee like suggested??

I was annoyed to see Ballantyne, Mayne, Mundy, MacPharlin rested but looking at the list, the list still looks good. Looking forward to seeing Bucovaz (Hopefully the next Wiz) for his first run with the Dockers. Bucovaz and Walters good be an enteraining forward line duo

FF: Walters Murphy Johnson
HF: Pearce Pavlich Suban
C: Hill Hasleby Ibbotson
HB: Broughton McPhee Silvagni
FB: Hayden Tarrant Duffield
RR: Clarke Barlow Crowley
I: Hinkley Bradley DeBoer Morabito Fyfe Schammer
Sub:Sandilands Dodd
E: Bucovaz Crichton Roberton
The forward line looks a bit thin without Mayne, Mundy and Ballantyne up there, but the skipper should be able to cover the loss. The lack of Goddard back there won't hurt us either.
The defense seems a bit short on talls with the result that either Dodd or McPhee, or both, are going to have to play a key defensive role. This should be managable given that All-Australian Cry Baby Nick Riewoldt will spend the game hugging his knees under his bed whispering "Solly's gonna get me, Solly's gonna get me..."

No Elvis. No Taz. No Grover.
Backline starts to look a bit short.
Does Johnson go back, or is that robbing Peter to pay Paul?
