Strange article in the Herald Sun

Yes, I'm still in Melbourne and was reading this article in the tea room this morning (tea room is a bit like that famous taxi that dockerlanders keep finding)

The article talks about run benny run's new book. Apparently the release has been delayed to the end of the season as it is expected to get benny delisted. The H-Sun claims it goes a few levels deeper than the doco and has already led to him and ricky nixon parting company - allegedly acrimoniously. No link online that I can find but just what I read in the paper.

How much is speculation or the usual journalistic licence (ie made up) I dont know but it was an unusual article either way.

And all in the same day that Suma claims the ooftits were over trained. Sounds like spin and free advertising to me.

The real question is, who will be the first to try and attract our attention to a bear.

Seems a funny place to point to a bear...in a Victorian paper with no link to the toasters.

The article also talks about the fight between nine fingers-two faces and embly over the club's drug culture. Maybe I'm reading too much into it but it looks like the toasters wont come out smelling like roses.

Bet the Terrace lawyers are already polishing up their wigs!

AS WE continue to wait for the much-talked about Ben Cousins video, comes news of what is said to be an even more controversial book.

Sources say the authorised biography by freelance journalist Peter Wilmoth has been completed but put on hold because it's too hot to release just yet.

They say it catalogues Cousins' experiences in such detail that it could curtail his career again when released.

"The plan is to hold the launch date now until October because they fear he would be deregistered as a player if it is released,'' a source said yesterday.

The book also details episodes such as the fight that took place between West Coast Eagles players Andrew Embley and Daniel Chick over the club's drug culture.

Cousins has co-operated with the book's author.

Wilmoth is said to be close to his father, former Geelong player Bryan Cousins, who is believed to have provided much information on his son.

The author has previously written a biography on Essendon champion James Hird titled Reading The Play.

Last week Mark Robinson reported exclusively in the Herald Sun that player manager Ricky Nixon was believed to have ended his dealings with Cousins and the book deal was partly to blame.

The report said that the pair had become increasingly frustrated over their business relationship and it was understood Nixon ended their relationship two weeks ago.

Issues regarding the highly-publicised Cousins documentary and the separate book deal were part of the fall-out, the report said.

Correspondence and business opportunities regarding Cousins, which were dealt with by Nixon's Flying Start sports management group are being forwarded to the Richmond Football Club.

Nixon helped Cousins through desperate periods and he was considered a key player in getting him back in the AFL system.

He secured Cousins' first contract with Richmond and a much-improved contract for this season.

See what mileage ya get from it!

Awwwww... sounds like two hearts beat as one. Or did.

More attention seeking from the lil champion. Lleyton Hewitt is the only sports figure that comes anywhere near my personal levels of scorn.
