Home Grand Final for Freo?
|

This is a cut'n'paste freom the AFL website re next weeks NAB Cup finals:
"The AFL wishes to advise that Subiaco was unavailable to host a semi-final match in the NAB Cup competition this weekend, due to a prior booking....." ie AC/DC.
So if by chance we beat St.Kilda do we get a home grand final? Surely the AFL wouldn't make us travel interstate 3 games in a row......would they?

The chances of a home final if we get past the Saints is virtually zero...
I can't remember whether it is winning margins or highest scores kicked (I think it is the latter?), but either way, the Bulldogs and Port would both be a fair bit ahead of us in both departments...
I for one think that the extra trips to Eddies Hat isn't actually a bad thing at this time of year. Plenty of practice at a venue we haven't done well at in the past can't be a bad thing can it? Bring on our home away from home...
And if we have to play poo powder in Adelaide we can always just blame the lack of opposition provided to them this week to allow them to rack up the points...

They'll let us use Subi if ACCADACCA do the pre-game entertainment.
Get out your bloodstained black t-shirts, it will be a ripper of a night - we'll psych out the Bulldogs with 'Highway To Hell'.

In the past it was awarded to the team with the most goals, but I haven't heard anything about that this year - probably so that the AFL can choose/be bribed to play it whereever they/the clubs/the TV station wants it to be played.
If it is most goals, then lets hope the Dogs beat the Power as they only scored 1.5.14 in the first round in the wet against Brissy. So far it's Power 6.34, Freo 2.25, Saints 4.22, WB 2.20.

You're getting excited a little early.
There is a game v the Saints this weekend first. And it is at Eddies Hat.
I ducked down to melbourne for the game there last season and whilst I have tried to purge it from my memory by watching "the big bang theory" repeats on channel go it is still there.
If the Saints are taking the pre-season comp seriously then we have a pretty tough job this weekend.

That's an interesting tally of goals, Pope... bearing in mind the turkey shoot the Power were gifted, our goal scoring looks alright.

Finally the Peake trade will bear fruit, apart from Roberton who looks a gun and the fact that its only been a couple of months since he left.
Can't wait for Brett to spot up Pav in the forward line with seconds remaining and the dockers down by 1 point ....

Ten reports that if we make the grand final we will have a home game, becuase travelling 3 weeks straight would be unfair.... Has hell frozen over?

Obviously they expect Port Adelaide to make the Grand Final too.

Considering both Port and Freo have played at home week one, both travelled considerable distances in week two and play again in Victoria week three, wouldn't both teams have a reasonable claim for a home final if they win this week?
Making Port travel to Perth twice in three weeks is a bit rough even if they did have a bye in week two.
