Let's face it. They need all the help they can get. Might I suggest that you ignore the suggested four, and come up with something more suitable? click and click

I think that we should be pragmatic and call them The Devils. It'll just make their imminent move easier and more palatable to our two-headed friends.

The timeline of significant events on that page reveals little of interest apart from the unfortunate origins of the name itself... but, if we look carefully, we note that just 3 years after the region's first butcher shop was opened by an 'Edward Palmer', the Rooty Hill school was opened.

The implications are clear. The choice is obvious.

Everyone should vote for Pride.

A new Sydney team with the nickname of Pride, add a bit of salmon colouring to the jumpers and you've taken care of Sam Newmans routine for the next decade.

The Rangers might be a bit of a heroic sounding name if you're from North America but in Australia it's a daggy bloke in khaki shorts and long socks.

Did they hire a marketing company to come up with those or did Sheeds do it all himself over a couple of bottles of sherry? Maybe it was that company the Commonwealth bank keep hiring, despite never using any of their ideas?

A little history of West Sydney on line.
I think "Rapists" and "Pillagers" is a bit obvious. "Invaders" might get a Guernsey. I know white with "blood red" highlights is already in use, but it could make the NSW derby fun to watch.

The West Sydney Sockers should blur the codes a bit.

The locals, who I gather are quite a multicultural bunch, will be able to shout out: "Pull Your Sockers Up", and the name might even inspire the odd media headline or two. eg "Sockers Can't Play Football"

Sheeds has got as much chance of making this a success as he has of recording a country & western hit single.*

*I'm thinking of a song as old as Sheeds. Maybe a cross between Lobo's "Me And You And A Dog Named Boo" and Cash Backman's "My Girl, Bill". Working title: "Me & My Man, Boobs".

Considering its West Sydney, perhaps 'The Bogans" might be appropriate.

Or, as it is likely to be a money sponge for the AwFL, with small chance of local grass roots support, perhaps "The Woftams"
