Normality Resumes - From Now


Okay, we have made it through the Dreaded Bye Rounds. It has been painful. It has been frustrating. It has been confusing. But most importantly, it has been. It’s done. It’s dusted. We are now back to some form of normality. But let’s look at the chaos caused by Bye Round 14.

Firstly, Polly orchestrated the first win ever the Hooley Dooleys had over Slammen’s Men. Onya Pol. I didn’t think you had a chance and, frankly, you stuck that straight up me and Slammo.

WillsieAir served up the Ingredients as appetisers during their joyride around the Blockerdrome. And The Captain reminded all that his team will be in the mix come the finals with a solid win over Oos.

Joe’s Nobodies couldn’t match the all-round averageness of the Hermits and they fell short. Well short. Actually, the Nobodies got thrashed. Nelson really, really needed a win this week and thank goodness, the Dreamers' opponents were the Jedis. Alvin will have to put all the light sabres on fast charge this week if the Jedis have any hope of playing in the 2018 Glenmorangie Finals Series.

What has been a surprise is Bizkit’s recent scores. Biz’s Superstars are racking up large scores. This is somewhat remarkable. We had, quite rightly, written off the Superstars for the 2018 season, but it seems no-one has told the Stars that the season is done and dusted. Moppy’s Chooks discovered that when they fell thirty points shy.

Sonia is finding form at the right time of the year and MattyT is just struggling to make it through the Byes. El Primero, a favourite for the premiership, will gladly wave bye-bye to Round 14 and hope that Round 15 will see El Hombres climb back towards the top of the ladder. Sonia, however, is one game out of the top eight and the Spurrs would be delighted to give some of the fancied sides a whipping this year after their unlikely exit from the top eight in 2017.

Straddo nearly did enough against Purple Kit, but didn’t. And FD’s Piglets, although scoring well, couldn’t match the might of the Covfefes down at SwingingPig Oval.

So this is what it feels like to have a midfield? I kinda like it.

Somehow the Stars are only 2 games off top spot and on a winning streak of 5 games. It is no coincidence young bull Jack Viney returned to the middle 5 games ago. The rest of our players stand taller and play better with him around and if he can maintain fitness for the rest of the season, the Stars could do some real damage.

Also returning this week in dominant form was Marcus Adams who has sat on the sidelines all season. An absolute jet in the backline, I can't wait to see him working with Luke Ryan in the Stars defence for the rest of 2018.

Well played Nelson, turns out I didn't even get close.
Yep thank god the byes are over, with all of my injuries on top of the byes I was screwed.
Todd Marshall and Kreuzer getting injured in the first 1/4's of their games pretty much sealed my fate this round but worse still I think they will both add to my huge injury list in coming weeks, so I think I will still struggle to field a team.
Hopefully I will get Acres and Houli back soon, I think I may as well give up on Taberner.

I can't believe Bolton is not playing Harry McKay, apparently they had a Blue (pardon the pun) but all the fans want him to play (and so do I)
A 200cm 95kg forward that was averaging two goals a game in that side this year and he now can't get a game???
Geez if they don't want him Freo could use him.
