Ive been watching WAFL closely this year and in particular Swans. There is a few gems there and hopefully we are keeping an eye on them from this "footy factory"

1. Dayle Garlett - goes without saying - is now a first round pick for sure..playing as a permanent FF.
2. Rory Lobb - 200cm+ young ruck that has been playing footy for only 3 years. I saw him debut/fill in at my amateur club in colts and was amazed at his ball skills and tackling ability for somebody so big. He picked up the game immediately and was soon playing ressies, league and has found himself to Swans and now a starting ruckman. I know we don't need another ruckman but he think he could be a key forward aswell like a Paul Salmon type. Either way we should be trying to recruit class and he has it in bucket loads. Look Out
3. Charlie Cameron - lightning quick forward capable of stints in the middle. Doesnt get a lot of it at the moment but has class written all over him. A taller version of son son.
4. Alex Howard - CHB, Prob not big enough for key position in the AFL but is incredibly clever and smart in the air. Always beats his opponents one on one and reminds me of Harry Taylor. Would prob slip through to a rookie draft.

I also continue to be amazed that Tim Geappen never made a AFL list - Stevie Johnson of the WAFL
Has anyone else seen any worthy of a look?

Looks like we've been watching the same blokes in the league sides - you should also get down to a Souths Colt match and check out their talent, Demo.

I've heard a lot about this Garlett fellow. I used to play with a few in the leagues down south and also in the goldfields league. All were incredibly talented (as are the Mourish's)

Can anyone give me any insight on the probability of us drafting this bloke with our first pick? From what I've heard he'll be long gone by Pick 16-18.

I believe so - our chance was last year and we didn't want him. I was surprised that others didn't, but there's no doubt Dayle will be out on the paddock next year, somewhere.

Hey Polly......interested to get your view on another young Ducks player on Sunday...Blaine Boekhorst. Has done some things this year that are simply amazing without the consistency...Hoping a finals atmosphere will bring out the best in him. Let me know what you think. Cheers!

With a name like a sausage his task to be considered seriously is a tough one. He has pace and some serious football skills, tough, durable and a good reader of the play. Some of my mates consider him to be the main reason why the Black Ducks have been so successful surging up the corridor this season - Booky carrying it along the boundary and finding a target inside has been wonderful to watch. He'll go somewhere this draft, second round (I figure) - he'll provide 10 years service to one of the clubs and has a good future in the game. Quiet fella, smart.
