The Demons and Tigers have the bye this week, so omit these players from your selections. The first game of Round 6 commences Thursday at 5:30pm WA time when St Kilda takes on the Doggies at Marvel Stadium. Your team needs to be submitted to this thread by 5:20pm on Thursday.



Round 06

There are some easy wins coming this week so let’s dump them now: WillsieAir strafes the Dukes, Bay Bros kick sand in the faces of El Bombres, and the Carpark Trannies are mincemeat to Cookie’s Ingredients. Now for the interesting matchups…

Moptop v Slammo-Jnr
You would be excused in thinking that the undefeated Rabbits would easily account for the winless Saviours, but any analysis of recent results would highlight the fact that Moppy’s crew haven’t been in good form whereas Slammo-Jnr’s team have been putting up good scores. Indeed, over the past three weeks the Saviours would have defeated the Rabbits twice. I think that the Rabbits have a better squad but it will come down to team selection. The Saviours deserve their inaugural victory, but I fear they will fall just short, again, this round.

Bizkit v MattyT
If ever a squad should have been named Limp Bizkit, it is the Stars. Their squad is full of good players who just can’t get into the park. MattyT’s El Primero are four-and-two and deserve to be solid in the top eight, but this is a real danger game for El Primero. I’d be scanning the AFL’s injury list before making any confident statement about victory for MattyT. Having said that, El Primero by twelve.

The Captain v Straddo
Straddo has two big outs this week with Vlastulin (bye) and Tarranto (injured) and this may end the Souls’ series of wins. The Captain is also carrying injured and out of form players in the Jokers’ squad so the selection table picks need to be on the money this week. Kiss of death: Jokers by seven.

We're in desperate need of reinforcements and they just aren't coming. I'm not sure how much longer this side can keep holding on and remain competitive without a lot of players stepping up significantly. We will at least have a forwardline this week but there are rumours Soldo is injured and won't play. We've named our two non-playing ruckman on the bench in the hopes one will get a gig if the worst were to happen (also just to make it look like we have a bench).
