Normal Service Has Resumed
Well hello again. Having returned to good old WA with a northern hemisphere upper-respiratory infection, I intend to spread this high quality bug to all and sundry. There is no need for you to receive this illness later - get it now; directly from me. Breathe deeply as you read this - that should do the trick.
I count myself lucky. I was
en transit when our First XVIII collapsed into quivering blancmange down at Kardinia Park on Saturday but caught the news last night to see that our favoured eGulls failed to thrill the throngs of knitters at Optus Stadium. I believe Mrs Mavis Foster-Pettingue was the one millionth patron at Optus Stadium and was awarded with a life-time subscription to Eagle Eye TV via Stan. “I was so excited”, said Mrs Foster-Pettingue, “that I almost forgot to purl after a knit! My Nicnat beanie could have been a disaster.”
I trust that Ooslumbird is recovering well and not chatting up the nurses too much. They have a job to do, Oos. You have to let them attend to other patients. Mind you, Oos has some time on his hands now as his Kaykups bowed out of the Glenmorangie Finals Series with his team falling short against Nelson’s Dreamers. The Kaykups had a mighty fine 2018, but the Dreamers were too good when it mattered.
Similarly, Blocker did enough. A win of 122.5 v 117.5 is hardly great form with which to take into the Grand Final; but, it is better than a loss. Congratulations to 391 for another stellar year. Your Covfefes did you proud.
In the Richmond Cup, Joe’s Nobodies spanked Alvin’s Jedis and now are favourites to lift the Cup. Well done Joe!
