Fighting to the End


It was a most fitting result for each of the DuFFLe Semi Finals. Not fitting as pertaining to the winner of each match, but to the high calibre games. The respective winners - Blocker and Nelson - have truly earned their place in the Preliminaries. Straddo and Bizkit were unlucky as there were only a handful of points in the games. Well done to you both.

For the Richmond Cup eliminations, Alvin’s Jedis and Joe’s Nobodies proved too strong for The Captain and Moptop’s teams. Well done to the Jokers and Chooks; I’m looking forward to seeing you return to strength in 2019.


Semi Finals
  • Willsie Aeroplane (158.5) defeated Marauding Souls (153) at Blockerdrome
  • Dreamers (149.5) defeated SoS Superstars (147.5) at Trafalgar Square

Eliminations
  • Jolly Jokers (131) lost to Purple Jedis (148) at Funny Farm
  • Thundering Chooks (126.5) lost to Notreally Nobodies (149) at Pfft Whatever Arena

The year was going so well, right up to pick 4 in the draft when I called out Paddy Ryder.
Seemed to be mostly downhill from there.

We've broken the Prelim final hoodoo! Albeit, not how we expected.

The Stars greatest strength was our defence all season but when we needed them most, we were let down. Not even 20pts between them which wasn't helped by an early injury to Ryan and a complete lack of attention to former Star Paddy Cripps.

Congrats Nelson and all those still left. A big thank you to Hg for keeping the DuFFLe running so smoothly this year. The Stars will be back to seek retribution in 2019.
