A New World Order
Like the confluence of the 1993 AFL season and the team known as the Baby Bombers, the august Dockerland Fantasy Football League has been rocked by Booker’s Chookers. MopTop, this young upstart, has taken out the 2016 DuFFLe Glenmorangie Lasanta Grand Final. This just shouldn’t happen. We all know, you have to lose a few finals before you succeed in taking the pretty one home after the final dance. MopTop has thrown this collective wisdom onto the scrap-heap and declared that there is a new world order.
Congratulations to MopTop and his Chookers. One of the top teams throughout the HomeNaway and indefatigable during the Glenmorangie Lasanta Finals Series.
And well done, Captain, on claiming the Stones Green Ginger Wine Richmond Cup. This was a what-could-have-been season for the Captain. The Jokers were scoring big, big points in the finals. Unfortunately, it was in the Richmond Cup where the Captain wreaked his vengeance. Why oh why did the Captain not make the final eight?
Commiserations and well done to both PK and Slammo.
- Grand Final: Booker's Chookers (164.5) defeated Fresh Breaths (127) at Triple-C Gardens
- Richmond Cup: Jolly Jokers (154) defeated Slammen's Men (119.5) at Dad Joke Graveyard
So, that's it boys and girls. Thank you linesmen. Thank you ball boys. See you again in 2017.
Post script:
I had the pleasure of meeting MopTop and his much better looking brother at the game today. A most fitting send-off for the great Pav. And thank you, Polly, for allowing me to watch the game with you.
